Vacuum press tool Model 8 |
|||
| The tool is universally applicable for a variety of substances. For example it allows the quick and uncomplicated manufacturing of transparent plates on basis of potassium bromide and other salts. These are indispensable for the preparation of hardly soluble substances for infrared spectroscopy and X-ray fluorescence analysis. | ||||
| Powdery substances are pressed between the optically polished die surfaces under defined pressure. If required the pressing takes place in vacuum. The result is a stable, plane-parallel, homogeneous press piece, the compact. The compact can easily been taken out of the press die, which consists of two pieces. The pressform's interior parts and the press dies are manufactured out of hardened, stainless steel. | ||||
| If different exchangeable inserts and micro-inserts are used, each tool will perfectly fit with the most different requirements only little supplementary investment is necessary. Exchangeable inserts for model 8 are available in steps of 1 mm. They consist of two inserts, the upper die with plate, and the lower die plus ejection ring. | ||||
| When using micro-inserts for oblong compacts, the amount of substances required for production of compacts declines to 20%. Thereby the optical quality stays equal. | ||||
