The PW-E series 2-column electrohydraulic lab presses are ideally suited for frequently changing pressing jobs in small, medium and also large quantities. These models are very easy to use, extremely robust and are designed as free-standing models with electrical switchgear cabinet or with electrohydraulic supply station.
The press tool or material is centered on the lower pressure plate and the upper pressure plate is rotated down with the adjusting spindle until it rests against the pressing material. After entering the pressing parameters on the electronic control unit, the pressing cycle is started, the piston of the hydraulic cylinder extends until the set ram force is reached. After expiration of the pressing time during which the pressing force is kept constant, the piston automatically returns to its normal position and the lab press is ready for the next pressing process.
All press parameters can be set comfortably and very easily and the automatic operation of the pressing operations also allows continuous operation for larger quantities
Further outstanding features are the double-acting hydraulic cylinder, the hard chrome-plated inductively hardened press columns and the plasma-hardened adjusting spindle. By default, PW-E lab presses are equipped with electronic control unit, pressure sensor, manual pressure relief valve and safety guard.
The PW-E series can be individually adapted to many user requirements and equipped with many add-on components.
All the PW-E series lab presses are also available with heating/cooling plate systems up to 300 °C or 500 °C.
The PW-E series electrohydraulic 2-column lab presses are very flexible and equipped with the latest easy-to-use control technology and pressure sensors.
The 2-column construction is very compact and space-saving. The reinforced press frame consists of a base plate, two hard chrome-plated inductive columns and the upper press yoke. An adjusting spindle with trapezoidal thread is attached to the press yoke which serves to apply the upper pressure plate quickly to the pressing material or pressing tool. The press frame is built on a stable base frame and provided with a safety guard. The electrical switchgear cabinet or the electrohydraulic supply station for the press type PW 100 E is set up next to the lab press. All electrical and hydraulic connections can be plugged or screwed so that the lab press is ready for use immediately after installation.
The programme is started by pressing the start button on the lab press electrical switchgear cabinet. Press sequences and press parameters can be preset and saved. To evaluate the test data, the connection of a PC with evaluation software can be made via an Ethernet interface.

The series PW-EH lab presses are equipped with round or rectangular heating/cooling plate systems HKP and the appropriate temperature control units TRG. Round heating/cooling plate systems are heated with surface radiators up to 300 °C, rectangular HCPs are designed with high-performance heating cartridges and can reach temperatures of up to 500 °C. In order to mount the upper heating/cooling plate system, all lab presses with heating/cooling plate system are equipped with an adjustable crossbeam guided in both press columns.
The heating/cooling plate systems are equipped with a cooling circuit for press cooling and two cooling circuits for cooling the upper and lower heating plate. The system’s pressure plates are made of hardened, high-pressure-resistant, fine-ground tool steel.
The separate heating of the upper and lower heating plates is achieved via the TRG temperature control units integrated in the electrical switchgear cabinet. The TRGs are each equipped with a digital controller and temperature sensor for each heating plate.
